This course provides a solid foundation of network security and the understanding of the process to create a network defense and countermeasure policy obtained from intrusion detection. Topics include Network Address Translation, packet filtering, proxy servers, firewalls, and Virtual Private Networks used to design a network defense strategy. (2 hr lecture, 4 hr lab)
