IDT 1113 - Introduction to Interpreting

(Prerequisites: ACT® English subscore of 17 or higher; or an ACCUPLACER English subscore of 88 or higher; or a Next-Generation ACCUPLACER English subscore of 245 or higher; and eligible for ENG 1113 - English Composition I  OR ENG 1113 ) Defines interpreting terms; lists and discusses code of ethics; placement of interpreters in various settings; discusses environmental factors; defines culture and how culture influences behavior and communication; and describes the assessment and certification process. (3 hr lecture)
