RGT 2132 - Ethical and Legal Responsibilities

(Prerequisites: RGT 1135 ) (Corequisites: RGT 2146 , RGT 2532 , RGT 2922 , Social/Behavioral Science Elective, CSC 1113  or IST 1264 ) Legal terminology, concepts, and principles will be presented in this course. Topics include misconduct, malpractice, legal and professional standards, and the ASRT scope of practice. The importance of proper documentation and informed consent is emphasized. This course will prepare students to better understand their patients, the patient’s families, and professional peers through comparison of diverse populations based on their value systems, cultural and ethnic influences, communication styles, socioeconomic influences, health risks, and life stages. (2 hr lecture)
