The course studies the relationship of raw materials, construction, and finish to quality and cost of textiles. Also considered are the identification of fibers, yarns, weave, colorants (dyeing and printing), and fabrics; selection of appropriate fabrics for various uses; and wearing quality and care required for textiles. (2 hr lecture, 2 hr lab)
