NUR 1119 - Professional Nursing Concepts I 9 SH (Prerequisites: BIO 2511 , BIO 2513 , BIO 2521 , BIO 2523 with a grade of “C” or better in each course, and SOC 2113 ) (Pre/Corequisites: ENG 1113 , PSY 1513 ) Within the framework of the nursing process and across the lifespan, the focus of this course is on fundamental nursing concepts related to the introduction of nursing practice and nursing as a profession. Nursing core competencies including the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe, quality care are introduced. Laboratory, simulation, and clinical experiences will include fundamental care of clients with a focus on long-term care and professional development. (5 hrs lecture, 4.5 hrs lab, 5.25 hrs clinical)
