SWK 1113 - Social Work: A Helping Profession

3 SH
(Prerequisites: REA 1213 ) The course exposes students to a “helping” profession that plays a central role in addressing human needs.  Students are exposed to personal/lived experiences of social work clients and successes of “real” social workers in respective practices such as mental health, child welfare, disaster, corrections, faith-based, military, international relief and industry. (3 hr lecture)
