(Prerequisites: ENG 1123 ) American Literature II surveys the literary, cultural, philosophical, religious, social, and economic dimensions of the Mid-Nineteenth, Modern, and Post-Modern periods through a chronological study of major authors and their writings. (3 hr lecture)
