EDU 1613 - Foundations in Education

(Prerequisites: ENG 1113 or ENG 1114 and REA 1213) Survey of education, teaching, and learning with special emphasis on current issues in American education and society. Includes a minimum of 15 hours field experience in a preschool through 12th grade environment.

Students will be required to successfully complete a background screening in order to complete their field experience. Students are responsible for paying the fee, approximately $41, directly to the designated screening company. Any student who fails the background screening or does not complete the background screening will not be able to remain in the course. (3 hr lecture)
