SWK 2113 - Child Maltreatment & Child Advocacy

(Prerequisites: ENG 0123  or eligible for ENG 1113 ; PSY 1513  is recommended) Perspectives on Child Maltreatment and Child Advocacy is the introductory course for child advocacy studies. This covers the history, legal framework, responses to child maltreatment, and other pertinent issues pertaining to child maltreatment and child advocacy in the future. The field of child maltreatment is fraught with controversy. Much of the class focuses on these controversies. (3 hr lecture)
